King of Space

A reconstruction of the game King of Space published originally in 1988 in Hypergate software to open Web languages with the addition of multimedia elements, such as images, sound, music, and 3D animations for contemporary audiences.
Project Leadership: Co-led a project involving five teams (Design, Animation, Game Dev, Web Dev, Social Media) with a total of 28 talented artists and project teams in the DTC497 Senior Seminar. Effectively managed restoration teams responsible for game development, animation, design, and promotion. Strong project management and leadership skills, we successfully delivered the impressive King of Space project within a demanding deadline.
Communication Enhancement: Streamlined communication within the animation team by utilizing Slack, Basecamp, and Zoom, along with in-person meetings. This resulted in a reduction of miscommunications and improved consistency in game design.
Asset Evaluation: Managed and approved content presented by the project teams’ leads for all stages of the workflow. Specialized in evaluating designers’ 3D/2D assets for the King of Space website and game. Through this, ensured an improvement in project adherence to requirements and timelines.

Leading virtual repository transformation spearheaded the reconceptualization of the repository, evolving it into a dynamic virtual multimedia space through effective collaboration with students.
Student Leadership: Co-led and mentored 43 artists and designers in DTC497, ensuring a seamless transition to remote delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic. This effort not only resulted in a high student retention rate but also played a crucial role in the innovative reconceptualization of the virtual repository.
Phase 3 Design: Managed and collaborated with the Executive Team, overseeing the successful design and production phases. This strategic approach significantly elevated engagement and participation levels from both students and visitors.
User Experience Enhancement: Provided mentorship to students involved in the reconstruction and rebranding of “The NEXT,” leading to a notable improvement in the user experience. Positive feedback from stakeholders highlighted the success of this initiative.

Lead a team of 25 artists and creators in DTC435 for the creation of three 3D animated shorts. These shorts were developed for the Confederate Tribes of Warm Springs Language Program, showcasing on YouTube and generating significant public engagement.
Remote Teaching: Effectively adapted to remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, sustaining a high student engagement rate and consistently delivering quality education.
Student Empowerment: Provided additional one-on-one support to empower students, resulting in enhanced success with projects and skill development.
Distance Course Delivery: Successfully implemented distance delivery methods for courses, maintaining a fervor for digital animation and multimedia design while prioritizing student success.
